Ever
feel like you are inundated with minute details of little or no
importance? Do you seem to be overwhelmed with them? It has been
said, "the devil is in the details". Given life's
complexity at times, that may seem like a fair assessment! But
really...GOD is in the details. You see, God has a plan for your
life that involves minute details. Details that impact other
details, that impact even more details. Details that touch
you...touch your family...touch extended family...touch
friends...and even touch strangers! A lady in our fellowship shared
Sunday about a simple act of kindness she has been performing each
week for the past couple of months. She basically pays for people's
coffee before they order it at a local coffee house! They drive up
to the window of the coffee house, to discover she has paid. Next,
they are blessed with an encouraging word that she asks the coffee
house owner to pass along with the free coffee. To her surprise, and
that of the coffee house owner, other customers are beginning to
follow suit! Her kindness, prompted by the Holy Spirit, has ignited
good things within the hearts of others! Now, THEY are paying for
other people's coffee! Last week, there was a day when the bill was
paid forward $150.00! Little things ARE important! Details can
actually be a tool of the Lord! Today we should remember some
"little" heroes of the Bible. David defeated Goliath with
only a sling and a stone! The boy Samuel was God's messenger to the
priest, Eli! A boy with only three loaves and two fish helped Jesus
feed more than 5000 people! The widow's mite (a very small amount of
money) was considered by Jesus to be worth more than the huge sums
given by the Pharisees! A cloud the size of a man's hand brought
forth much needed rain on the land in the Old Testament! The stories
go on and on! Why? Because God uses the foolish things of this world
to confound the wise! Through God's infinite detail work, He is
weaving a beautiful tapestry. Your life is a work of art to God.
With each brushstroke of His will, we are being completed as His
masterpiece. May we look at life in such a way, that we realize this
fact...that we understand...GOD is in the details, and He wants
those details to impact not only us...but so many countless others!
So...go and be used by the Lord today. Let His will be your desire.
Don't despise the small things. See God in it all, and let others
see Him through YOU! Be blessed with HIS BEST!
Your
Brother in Ministry,
Greg McCowen
