As
prices at the pump continue to rise, it seems there is
more and more frantic talk of alternative energy. From
politicians to pastors, many are speculating in regard
to a solution to this financial crisis. One oil man,
T. Boone Pickens, is on a self funded campaign to
raise awareness about alternative energy sources, in
hopes of reducing our dependence on foreign oil. He
believes natural gas, wind energy, and solar power is
the answer to our energy woes. Perhaps he is
right...perhaps he isn't. Do you believe you have the
answer to our energy problems? If you were in charge,
would you do things differently? What would YOU do?
How would you handle the complaints and demands of the
people? So many people like to believe they have
the answer. They like to speculate, formulate, and
inevitably regurgitate information they have been fed
by others. Unfortunately, it seems the harder we try
to figure it all out, the darker it gets in the hole
we are digging! This world is passing away! The things
in this world are passing away! WE are passing away!
Sure, we should be responsible, and try to make our
world a better place for those who are younger than
us. We should be good care takers of the earth and its
resources. We should give a hoot and not pollute. Even
so, our best efforts will ultimately end in ruin. Just
like the global warming crowd asserts...this world, as
we know it, will eventually cease to exist. Funny, but
didn't God warn us about this phenomenon in the
Bible?! Can't we read and understand about how this
world will end in the book of Revelation? All of the
wars and rumors of wars. The disasters, earthquakes in
diverse places. The menace of Babylon, and its
murderous hatred for the people of the God of Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob. Threats of nuclear destruction and
the rising cost of food. Famine and drought. Floods
and fires. What does it all signify? It signifies we
are living in some portion of the end times! It
signifies we are living in a world being ravaged by
sin! It signifies that we had better be plugged into
THE TRUE ENERGY SOURCE! The woes of this planet will
never be answered by a man! The damage that has been
done, and is being done, will not recede because we
decide to take the bus, or ride bicycles more! Pain
and death will not be overcome by a new plan of any
man or woman! No man or woman will be the hope for a
better tomorrow! No man or woman will offer any thing
new or better to this world than those who came before
them! No man or woman will be the savior of those who
are caught in the middle of the torment. No...no man
or woman will instigate a change which will truly make
THE difference. They can not. They will not. Why you
might ask? Why can't we make this world a better
place? Why can't we change the course of our planet?
Why can't we take matters into our own hands and
create a new world?! Because that's how we got into
this mess in the first place! We tried to do something
that only GOD HIMSELF can do! We tried to be the
masters of our own destiny! We tried to create
something good, and only succeeded in MAKING A MESS!
Oh that we would step back from the current world
situation and see through HIS eyes! That we would
begin to realize that we aren't in need of an
alternative energy source...we're in need of THE
ENERGY SOURCE! We need the Lord Jesus Christ! Many
people call on the name of Jesus, but is HE LORD of
their lives? Many people have a form of
godliness...but do they have HIS POWER?! This world is
not going to get better! We cannot continue to believe
that it will! As prophesied in the Word of God, it
will grow worse! Men's hearts will wax worse and
worse! Men and women will become lovers of themselves
instead of God! What do you see going on NOW? In the
days of Noah, people were selfish and debase. What are
we seeing in society TODAY? It's time for those TRUE
WORSHIPERS of JESUS CHRIST to acknowledge HIM as LORD
of their lives! In EVERY area of their lives! We must
NOT continue along the path of lukewarm Christianity!
We must NOT be sucked into worldly thinking, esteeming
man and things above GOD! It's time to proclaim the
TRUTH in LOVE. It's time to walk circumspectly, not
ignoring the signs revealed by the Spirit of God. It's
time to take our walk with Jesus to a higher level.
Distractions and temptations abound. We must focus our
energy on serving the LORD JESUS! We must not be
deterred from the work to which we have been called!

God with ALL of our heart, soul, mind, and strength!
And may we love our neighbors as ourselves...NOT
wasting all of our time trying to come up with
temporary solutions to terminal problems...but,
offering eternal solutions INSTEAD! Be blessed with
